Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist

Jackie has over 20 years’ experience as an Occupational Therapist. She works with people with neurological diagnoses and physical and cognitive dysfunction.

Alongside her role with Horizon, Jackie is the Occupational Therapy team lead on the Bucks Neurological Rehabilitation Unit (BNRU) for Buckinghamshire NHS Trust.

Jackie is also a trained Bobath therapist, which she uses to evaluate and treat patients with movement difficulties caused by problems in their central nervous system.

Jackie says she loves the variety and diversity of her job, and takes a holistic approach to helping people regain their independence.

From using the toilet and cooking, to going to the shops or regaining skills for work, Jackie has a wealth of experience to help her patients rebuild their skills and confidence.

Jackie is an expert at:

  • Helping you or your loved one to maximise independence and participate in daily activities
  • Providing specialist neurological assessment at home or in a community setting
  • Developing targeted rehabilitation programmes based on up-to-date theoretical frameworks
  • Providing open and honest assessments and advice, explained using clear reasoning
  • Working closely with your support network (including family, carers and other care professionals) to help you achieve your potential
