Functional Fitness MOT
If you are aged 55-95+ and would like to improve your level of activity, Horizon’s Functional Fitness MOT is the first step to joining our specialist strength and balance groups, where you can socialise with local people and rediscover your love of activity and movement.
The Functional Fitness MOT can also be completed as a stand-alone session to understand more about your current level of fitness and receive personalised suggestions on how to live well and maintain your independence.

If you have a specific health condition or are recovering from a recent illness or operation, you may require a more individualised assessment with the physiotherapist.
If you run a group in the community and would like us to come and deliver this session to your members, please get in touch.
Sports Therapy & Injury Clinic
Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy aims to treat, manage and prevent acute and chronic injuries and help you take control of your symptoms.
Also known as Sports Physiotherapy, this is physiotherapy that assesses and treats injuries and pain. Commonly, these problems affect one specific area of the body such as an ankle sprain, pulled muscle or bad back. Often, the problem has occurred through playing sports which is why it is referred to as Sports Physiotherapy.

Musculoskeletal physiotherapists are specialists in this field and are also skilled in the assessment and treatment of Orthopaedic conditions and recovery following these types of surgeries.
Our Physiotherapist will take a full history and assessment of your injury and work in collaboration with you to set a rehabilitation programme to help you achieve your goals. They can work together with our Sports Therapist and Massage Therapist to ensure a holistic approach to recovery.
Sports Therapy & Injury Clinic
Sports Therapy aims to rehabilitate you back to the best possible levels of functional, occupational and sports-specific levels of fitness, according to your personal goals.
Sports Therapists are also experts in the management and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and orthopaedic recovery.
Whether you are just starting out on your fitness journey or are a seasoned athlete, our Sports Therapist will work with you to be the best that you can be.
Massage Therapy
Massage can be extremely useful in helping people manage their physical and mental health. It can be effective as a stand alone therapy or as part of an integrated package alongside your rehabilitation.
Soft tissue therapy combines targeted massage with active muscle techniques, similar to classic sports massage. Sessions include movement assessment and can incorporate rehabilitation advice to help you achieve your exercise goals

Sports Massage
Sports massage is a form of deep tissue massage that has various physiological benefits including improved circulation to an injured area, pain reduction, promoting relaxation and reducing stress.
It is often used alongside MSK Physiotherapy and other rehabilitation programmes to enhance recovery.
