Neurological Physiotherapy

If you have a neurological condition, it’s important to seek help from a specialist therapist with expertise in getting the brain and body to work together.

Our neurological rehabilitation team are highly experienced in the management of neurological conditions and offer a different approach to conventional physiotherapy. Our aim is to help you achieve as much independence as possible and be the best that you can be.
By taking a holistic view of how your condition affects you and helping you understand your condition, neurological physiotherapy can support you to rebuild lost movement and function or to optimise the capabilities that you have. The overall process seeks to harness neuroplasticity and produce the most efficient movement outcomes no matter what your neurological impairment may be.

Through a combination of therapy sessions and home visits, neurological rehabilitation can improve all aspects of your condition, including:

  • physical strength and coordination
  • memory and concentration
  • communication and problem solving

Occupational Therapy (OT) enables you to regain independence in all aspects of your life and continue the activities you love.

Neurological conditions don’t just affect movement: they can affect the way you think, plan, remember and engage with the world around you.

Our specialist Neurological Occupational Therapist can help you work towards regaining these skills, or find different ways of doing things to maximise what you can do yourself.
Occupational Therapy is a key part of how Horizon Rehabilitation help our patients discover your own Pathway to Participation.

Vestibular Rehabilitation

If you are experiencing vertigo or problems with dizziness, Vestibular Rehabilitation can help.

A healthy balance system uses information from the brain, inner ears, eyes, and joints, and enables you to see clearly when moving you head. Early screening and intervention from a physiotherapist can minimise the impact of vestibular disorders and balance problems on your daily life.

Starting with a specialist assessment, your therapist will gain an in-depth understanding of the impact your symptoms are having on your daily life.

We’ll then explore how well your vision, eye movements, head movements, balance and inner ear are working together.

We’ll work with you to build a step-by-step programme that’s tailored to you, to improve your symptoms, reduce the risk of falls and improve your overall quality of life.

Vestibular Testimonials

“Karen has been incredibly professional and thorough in her approach to identifying and helping to resolve my problems. I have felt completely confident throughout. Thank you.”
